Police OK release of autopsy in Mich. imam’s death

DEARBORN, Mich. — A Michigan police chief has approved the release of an autopsy report in the death of a Muslim prayer leader who was killed during an FBI raid last fall.

Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad (huh-DAD’) says the report will be available from the Wayne County medical examiner Monday afternoon.

He says he won’t comment on the autopsy report and the investigation continues.

Weekend news reports said Luqman Ameen Abdullah was shot 21 times during an FBI raid at a Dearborn warehouse on Oct. 28. Abdullah was the imam of a mosque in Detroit.

He was described as a leader of a national radical Sunni group that wants to create an Islamic state within the U.S. His family has denied allegations that he was anti-government.
