SHIMLA/ MANALI - A fresh snowfall has brought smiles on the faces of several tourists holidaying at Shimla and the hill resort of Manali.

The tourists are making the best use of the weather conditions by playing in the snow and going on trekking.

Amar Thakur, a trekker said, “We are standing in the Bashlew pass, which is at a height of 13,000 feet. The trek starts from Sarahan to Bathad Pass and is about 12 kilometres long. This place is very good for trekking.”

“Behind me, you can see there is so much snow, the sun is shining and it is the month of January. Himachal Pradesh is the best place for trekking,” added Thakur.

The snowfall in Manali has made it a popular honeymoon destination as the newlyweds are arriving here in large numbers.

Ushant Udhas, a tourist said, “This is my first time in Manali and of course, my first time I’m seeing so much snow around. So it’s a pleasant experience and all I can say is that my honeymoon is memorable now.”

The chilly conditions are expected to remain over the week, with temperatures dropping down to as low as six-degrees Celsius. (ANI)
