‘Catcher in the Rye’ author J.D. Salinger dies at 91

LONDON - American author JD Salinger, best known for his 1951 novel The Catcher in the Rye, has died of natural causes at the age of 91.

Salinger passed away at his home in New Hampshire in the United States, reports the Daily Star.

Jon Howells, a spokesman for bookseller Waterstone’s, said he was one of the ‘absolute giants of 20th Century literature’.

Apart from the famous ‘Catcher In The Rye’, JD Salinger’s other works includes short stories such as ‘Franny and Zooey’, and the well-known 1953 publication ‘Nine Stories’. (ANI)
