ISLAMABAD - China has provided two security scanners to Pakistan for installation in Islamabad and Rawalpindi as a part of a joint Safe City programme, a media report said Sunday.

Addressing the handover ceremony here Saturday, Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Lou Zhaohui said the scanners would enhance the capacity of the security forces.

Luo appreciated the efforts of the Pakistani government in providing security to over 10,000 Chinese engineers working on 122 different projects in the country, the People’s Daily reported.

He said in the second phase, scanners would be installed in four provincial capitals of Pakistan.
