ISLAMABAD - The United States, after constant denials, has admitted that controversial private American security firms, Blackwater and DynCorp, are working in Pakistan.

Visiting US Defence Secretary Robert Gates, while conceding the presence of the security companies, said they are working in Pakistan in a private capacity and assured they would work under Pakistan rules and law.

Commenting on Indo-Pak relations, Gates told a private television channel that issues between the two countries should be resolved bilaterally.

Gates also stressed on the need for dismantling Taliban safe havens along the Pak-Afghan border, failing which “more lethal and more brazen” attacks could be expected in both countries. (ANI)
