NJ Natural Gas offers savings on heating bills

WALL, N.J. — A major New Jersey natural gas utility says it will offer bill credits that will save the average customer about 20 percent on his gas bill over the next two months.

New Jersey Natural Gas said Wednesday that the break for consumers comes as a result of recent lower wholesale natural gas prices.

The utility said the typical residential customer should receive credits on the February and March bills totaling about $89.

New Jersey Natural Gas, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources Corp., serves more than 486,000 customers in Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex, Morris and Burlington counties.
