Man holes up in western Pa.; police surround home
ZELIENOPLE, Pa. — State and local police have surrounded a western Pennsylvania home after a report that a man barricaded himself in.
Police in Zelienople (zee-lee-uh-NOH’-pul) say there are no reports of injuries in the standoff. It began at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
A police spokeswoman says officers responded when someone called 911 to report that the man had barricaded himself in.
Police have not said why the man did that. They also haven’t confirmed reports that shots were fired in the house.
Zelienople is about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh.
