Google cuts Nexus One price for T-Mobile customers

SAN FRANCISCO — Google Inc. says it is cutting the price of its new Nexus One phone for existing T-Mobile subscribers, who were paying $379 to upgrade to the device if they already had a data plan.

Those same customers will now pay $279 for the device — a price that previously was only available to T-Mobile customers who did not have data plans.

Google says anyone who paid the higher price and is eligible will be given refunds.

The regular price of the phone is $179 for people who sign up for a new two-year contract with T-Mobile, or $529 for people who want to use a different wireless carrier.
