IMPHAL - Assam Rifles personnel arrested three cadres of the outlawed Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) here on Wednesday.

One AK-56 assault rifle with a magazine along with 30 live rounds, one M-16 assault rifle with two magazines and 100 live rounds and two mobile telephone sets was also recovered from them.

The arrested rebels have been identified as Thamongjam Sansan Singh, Khuraijam Basant Singh and Chingkhei Bhogen.

Speaking to reporters, Colonel Gaurav, Commanding Officer of 26 Assam Rifles mentioned that the trio tried to mislead security forces by giving wrong information about arms and ammunition.

However, a resolute grilling forced the nabbed militants to spill the beans.

The RPF is an armed wing of the People’s Liberation Army, which is also a banned outfit. (ANI)
