Feds search Chevron’s Alaska offices

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Federal authorities have searched Chevron Corp. properties in Alaska.

Department of Justice spokesman Andrew Ames wouldn’t give details of the search but said they were conducted Tuesday and Wednesday.

A spokesman for Chevron told the Anchorage Daily News that the Environmental Protection Agency has been investing air emissions at two of its properties that are operated by Union Oil Co.

Chevron spokesman Mickey Driver says the investigation is focusing on the Trading Bay Production Facility and the Granite Point Tank Farm in the Cook Inlet area.

Driver says Chevron is cooperating with federal authorities.
