Anne Frank’s Protector Miep Gies Dead At 100

Amsterdam (GaeaTimes.com)- Miep Gies, the lady who saved the life of Anne Frank and her family during the tumultuous times of the Second World War, died recently. She was 100. She was a brave heart who defied the threats of the Nazi occupiers and gave shelter to the girl and others in her family. She kept them hidden at a back house till they were traced and captured by the Nazis a few years later. Miep Gies not only saved the lives of Anne and her parents but she also deserves credit for preserving the famous diary of Anne Frank. This news has been affirmed by the Anne Frank Museum. Anne Frank’s protector Miep Gies died at the age of 100.

The news of Anne Frank’s protector Miep Gies dying at 100, has also been confirmed by Maatje Mostar, the secretary of the museum. She is said to have died of natural causes. The family of Anne Frank and 4 others managed to give the Nazis a miss for two years. They were taken away by the German police to death camps. Only the father of Anne Frank managed to return alive, after the end of the war.

The diary of Anne frank has been published in many languages and had it not been for Anne Frank’s protector Miep Gies, it would not have survived. The lady said that she did what she was asked by Anne’s father, who was her employer at that time. She refused to take honor for her acts. The lady is dead but her heroic acts will be remembered forever.
