Michigan selects Domino’s CEO Brandon as new AD
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan has chosen Domino’s CEO David Brandon as its new athletic director.
The university said in a statement Tuesday that Brandon will have a 5-year contract.
University President Mary Sue Coleman says the 57-year-old Brandon is the “ideal candidate” and will carry on Michigan’s “tradition of excellence.”
Coleman led the search for a new athletic director after Bill Martin said last year he would retire in September.
Brandon has been chairman and chief executive of Ann Arbor-based Domino’s Pizza Inc. since March 1999. He graduated from Michigan in 1974, where he played football for the late coach Bo Schembechler (SHEM’-bek-lur).
Brandon won a seat in 1998 on the University of Michigan’s Board of Regents.
