PATNA - The locals, especially pavement dwellers in Patna here, have a tough time coping with the biting cold, as the mercury dipped on Thursday.

The minimum temperature in Patna was recorded at four degree Celsius on Thursday.

Locals were seen huddling around fires to keep themselves warm.

“It has become very cold and we are rickshaw cart pullers. We are feeling very cold and are burning tyres to keep ourselves warm. There is no other arrangement for wood and blankets, and we are surviving somehow,” said Meri Lal, a rickshaw cart puller.

The worst suffers were the pavement dwellers, as they are deprived of any help from the state government.

“There is no help from the government and we are burning tyres and keeping ourselves warm,” said Jaisunath Singh, another rickshaw cart puller. (ANI)
