DAUSA - A case similar to the Ruchika molestation case has come up in Dausa involving a tribal woman. She was allegedly raped thirteen years ago and is still waiting for justice.

Madhukar Tandon, a senior police officer had allegedly raped Maali Devi, a tribal Meena woman in Dausa. The Rajasthan police has still not arrested the absconding police officer.aali Devi says, “I was taken to Noida and abused. My husband was beaten up, we were destroyed.”

Tandon had allegedly kidnapped and raped his gunman Khayali Meena’s wife Maali in Noida in 1997.

In February, the same year, the victim filed a case both in Noida and in her native village. Tandon was on leave when the case was filed. He has been missing since then.

Rajasthan police has failed to trace or arrest him, despite the fact that he has property in Jaipur.he victim and her husband now survive by working the fields in their village.

In its election manifesto of 1998, the Congress government had promised to bring Tandon to book. But action is yet to be taken. (ANI)
