PANAJI - Goa, a hot destination for tourists, is all set to welcome visitors with a riot of Christmas festivities.

With Christmas round the corner, every bakery in Goa is flooded with customers eyeing their favorite cakes. The influx of tourists has pushed the demand for cakes to almost double that of last year.

Meanwhile, hotels and resorts in the region are also getting ready for tourists as they are expecting a heavy rush during the weekend.

“This time the festivities are going to be grand in Goa. We have made a grand display of traditional Christmas goodies like chocolate cakes, Santa cakes and goodies baskets,” said Prasad, a chef at Hotel Cidade de Goa.

Tourists and locals are rushing to stores to get hold of the best Christmas trees and decorations.

“I personally came to this store to purchase a Christmas tree. I decorate my Christmas tree with all the decoration pieces at my house. This is Christmas mood, and each and every one should celebrate it. This is a peace-loving festival and I would like to wish everybody a happy Christmas,” said Jose Philip d’Souza, Revenue Minister of Goa. (ANI)
