Carbon monoxide suspected in Pa. YMCA illnesses

CARBONDALE, Pa. — At least eight people at a Pennsylvania YMCA have been taken to hospitals with possible carbon monoxide poisoning.

Emergency workers responded to the YMCA in Carbondale around 10 a.m. Thursday after reports of illness.

Lackawanna County emergency management director Robert Flanagan says at least eight people were taken to hospitals.

Their conditions have not been released, and the source of the fumes has not been determined.

Carbondale is about 115 miles north of Philadelphia.
