1 rescued, 2 sought from boat that sank off NJ
BARNEGAT LIGHT, N.J. — One person has been rescued from a 38-foot fishing boat that sank off the coast of New Jersey and the Coast Guard is searching for two others.
The Coast Guard received a distress signal from the fishing boat Alisha Marie about 7 p.m. Tuesday off the coast of Barnegat Light, N.J. A helicopter was dispatched and was able to rescue one man from a life raft.
The man told them he was the only one to get into the raft.
He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City.
The name of the survivor and the others onboard the boat were not released pending the notification of their families.
