NARAYANPUR - At least two Maoists, including a woman, were gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur District on Sunday.

Following an encounter that carried on for an hour in the Kohkameta Forest in Narayanpur, the forces were able to recover the bodies of two rebels.

“District force along with Special Task Force, CRPF and Special Police Officers were sent after thorough planning. The forces raided their camp. The encounter continued for an hour,” said Rahul Bhagat, Superintendent of Police of Narayanpur district.

Apart from ammunitions, like fully loaded magazines of AK-47, rifles, battery and detonators, the police also recovered medicines and literature from their possession.

“We have received some important documents that can throw light on their (Maoists) links with the cities. The documents will give insights into their revenues, their budgets and about their parallel government,” Bhagat added. (ANI)
