MAHARASHTRA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- MHADA lottery that was declared way back in the early phase of 2009 shall have the lottery draw results announced today. Reportedly, the MHADA (Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority) housing lottery results shall name the winners for the ownership of 1200 flats.

Awaiting the results of the lottery some of the officials of MHADA told the media they are expecting multiple winners like last time. This time the MHADA authority is all alert to make sure that there are no false claims for the flats. As a matter of fact the MHADA housing authority has been the center of discussion when the housing authority witnessed ministers submitting fake affidavits to gain possession at the Versova project. The MHADA lottery uses a combination-lock method which accounts for the applicants buying the forms in a serial order. However this very method of determining the lucky winner has been criticized by many applicants. They are of the opinion that the system isn’t full proof and deprives many applicants a chance of fair play as they submitted their forms at the closing. However, MHADA board has been adamant to change the software that is being employed for the lottery draws.

The senior officials told the media that the lottery allows one single family to win three to four flats which they feel is more than a bonus. Moreover, the MHADA lottery shall have 220-odd runs in a limited time span of 8-10 hours which dosen’t allow them to scroll out the entire draw results out in the public. It was also said that the MHADA lottery encourages fraud applicants who submits several forms with names of different family members or by using initial or the last name.
