At Biden’s cue, wounded troops head on 3-day ride
WASHINGTON — Vice President Joe Biden has kicked off the annual Wounded Warrior Ride, telling the injured troops taking part that they’re an inspiration to all Americans.
Biden gave the signal Wednesday and his wife, Jill Biden, sounded an air horn as 28 service members set off from the White House South Lawn on bicycles and wheelchairs. The event finishes in Annapolis, Md., on the weekend.
The vice president told them: “We admire you. We owe you,” and said they are the heart, soul and spine of the nation.
