LONDON - Cliff Penrose, a 60-year-old man in Britain, can hypnotize rabbits.

The man from St Austell in Cornwall brings bunnies with behavioural problems under control before they are taken to the vet.

Penrose, a grandfather, starts with a massage that leaves the animal flat on their backs with their legs in the air.

“You can tell when a rabbit is under because his back legs completely relax,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

He added: “He is then in a trance-like state for up to 10 minutes and emerges from this as a happier, more relaxed pet.”

Experts claim that the rabbits are simply playing dead, as they would when in fear of predators.

However, vet Fiona Rawlings, who has employed Cliff to de-stress rabbits before examining them at her practice in St Austell, refutes this opinion.

She said: “This is inaccurate. In this state they are exposing their tummies - a very vulnerable part of the body. If they were in fear they would be hunched up tightly to stop attack.”

Penrose has been taking care of rabbits for 30 years. (ANI)
