Solid gold and gem-encrusted #140k mobile phone unveiled

LONDON - Mobile phones couldn’t get jazzier- a solid gold and gem-encrusted phone, worth tens of thousands of pounds, has been unveiled.
British designer Stuart Hughes, 38, is to make only 10 sets of the exclusive Prive Phones.
The phones, costing140,000 pounds each, weigh 900 grams but are cast with solid 22-carat gold.
The handsets will feature modern phone technology, including Internet access, text messaging and colour screens and the ability to watch mp4 videos.
However, it is adorned with 76 flawless diamonds and original granite packaging, marked with the number of the limited edition phone.
The phones are eight inches long and three inches wide with an aerial measuring almost four inches.
They weigh a hefty 1,380 grams and include an ion battery that lasts for up to a week.
Owners of the cells will also get a year’s membership of exclusive private club Prive International, worth 20,000 pounds.
Prive International provides bespoke luxury services for clients such as body guards, holidays and car racing days.
The Canadian company contacted Stuart and commissioned him to create the ten luxury handsets which took him six weeks.
“These phones are for the uber-rich and look fantastic - they are so huge in comparison to the phones of today,” the Telegraph quoted him as saying. (ANI)
