Prince Harry one step closer to returning to Afghanistan frontline

LONDON - Prince Harry has come one step closer to his dream of returning to serving again in Afghanistan after being judged talented enough to fly the lethal Apache attack helicopters.
The 25-year-old royal was said to have scored top marks during his helicopter pilots’ training course and has been offered the option of flying either Apaches or the Lynx utility helicopter.
“Prince Harry has expressed a preference in the past for Lynx, but if they [his commanders] think he is good enough for Apache, he will certainly seriously consider the option properly,” The Telegraph quoted a courtier as saying.
His spokesman said: “Prince Harry, like any soldier, retains a strong ambition to serve his country wherever it may send him, including to Afghanistan. Ultimately, it will be a decision for the chain of command.”
The third in line to the British throne secretly served 10 weeks in Afghanistan in 2007 to 2008 but was pulled out over security concerns after media leaked his whereabouts. (ANI)
