LONDON - The former lover of Manchester City ace Wayne Bridge has accused the player of damaging England’s World Cup hopes and termed his decision to quit the squad as a big mistake.
Lingerie model Vanessa Perroncel, who had a secret fling with Bridge’s Three Lions team-mate John Terry, said: “He’s made a big mistake.”
Bridge on Thursday declared that he did not wish to be selected for England in the wake of Terry’s affair, saying his presence in the squad would be untenable and divisive.
His decision leaves England with a left-back crisis ahead of the World Cup after rival Ashley Cole broke his ankle.
Speaking to PR man Max Clifford, Vanessa said: “England’s chances of lifting the trophy have been seriously weakened. He’s made the wrong decision for himself and the country. He needs to reconsider.” (ANI)
