LONDON - Sarah Palin has ranked third in a poll of Republican presidential hopefuls for the 2012 US elections.

In the survey of nearly 2,400 attendees in a conference in Washington, libertarian Congressman Ron Paul came first with 31 percent votes, making him the most likely candidate to take on President Barack Obama.

Mitt Romney, the defeated primary candidate in 2008, was placed in the second spot with 22 per cent, while Palin came third with just seven per cent.

However, 53 per cent were not happy with the possible contenders on offer, reports the Telegraph.

Meanwhile, Palin posted on Twitter she was looking forward to dog-sleigh marathon her husband will soon compete in.

She wrote: “Family is getting ready for Todd’s IronDog race tomorrow.” (ANI)
