LONDON - A three stone rabbit is set to get itself into the Guinness World Record as the world’s heaviest.

At just 12 months old and four foot long, the Continental Giant weighs the same as a three-year-old child.

His owner Pauline Grant, 73, from Uckfield, East Sussex says he can eat 10pounds worth of food a day and is so popular that even neighbours offer to buy food for him.

His favourites are Weetabix, water biscuits, apples, carrots, cabbages, toast, sweetcorn and huge bowls of rabbit food.

Mrs Grant is still looking forward to confirmation of Ralph’s record-breaking weight, with his late mother Amy being the current title holder.

Ralph’s dad Roberto is also a previous record holder and had to sleep on a dog’s bed because he was too big for a hutch.

“I have no idea why Ralph’s so big, maybe because he’s made up of a lot of muscle,” Sky News quoted Mrs Grant, as saying.

She added: “Why am I 5ft 4in and my son is 6ft 2in? It must be something to do with his genes.

“He’s got a big appetite and the last thing I want to do is to keep him short of food.” (ANI)
