LONDON - El Bulli, the Spanish restaurant voted the finest on the planet, will close permanently next year.

El Bulli is famed for its avant-garde cuisine at the hands of celebrated chef Ferran Adrià, who has decided to take a break and rethink his future.

Besides losing money, he said, the pressure from diners was so great that “at that bestial pace, it would be impossible to continue,” reports The Telegraph.

“We had planned to use the two years to see how El Bulli could evolve,” Adrià said. “We’ve been looking at many options, but we have decided that the foundation would be the most satisfying.”

The chef is now planning to run an academy for advanced cuisine. (ANI)
