Soon, a fat tax for obese at UK crematoriums

LONDON - In the UK, family members could be asked to pay 40 pounds extra if their cremated loved ones are overweight.
Larger bodies are currently taken to crematoria in London or Sittingbourne.
But now people coming to Kent and Sussex Crematorium might have to give 40 pounds extra for larger coffins, reports the Daily Star.
“It is felt reasonable that if the authority incurs additional costs in order to facilitate larger coffins, that a charge of 40 pounds is made,” said a report by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.
Standard coffins range from 16 to 20 inches in depth, but larger ones are now being ordered for big bodies. (ANI)
