Pak court rejects appeal against reopening of corruption cases

RAWALPINDI - An accountability court here has rejected the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) plea to not to reopen corruption references against those who were part of various scams.
Hearing a corruption case, in which Zardari along with Benazir Bhutto, Nusrat Bhutto, and others have been accused, Judge Tariq Abbasi said that it was not right for the prosecution to file such an appeal, as the application should be moved by the co-accused parties.
In an another case, the court rejected another NAB plea in the Cotecna corruption case, in which Benazir and Zardari allegedly received 11.8 million dollars in kickbacks for a 131 million dollars contract, The Daily Times reported. (ANI)
