Brit journalist’s historic files up for grabs

LONDON - The family of a late reporter, who saved transcripts from the historic trial of the “architect of the Holocaust”, has put the documents up for auction.
George Gale, a former Daily Express foreign correspondent, kept the copies from the historic trial of Adolf Eichmann, the German Nazi charged with the deportation of Jews to ghettos and extermination camps in German-occupied Eastern Europe.
Gale, who died in 1990, stored the collection, mounting up to six volumes and more than 600 pages, in a cardboard box which was later discovered by members of his family.
The collection is expected to fetch up to 500 pounds at the sale in Devizes.
“These are very rare documents because not many copies would have been produced,” the Daily Express quoted auctioneer Andrew Aldridge as saying.
“And of those handed out to the press at the trial, how many of them would have ended up in the bin after use?” he added. (ANI)
