VIENTIANE - Visiting Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on Monday said that bilateral trade between India and Laos was currently quite modest, and therefore, there was a need to address this aspect of ties on a priority basis.
VIENTIANE - Business chambers of India and Laos on Monday signed four agreements to boost bilateral trade ties between the two countries after visiting President Pratibha Devisingh Patil addressed a meeting of captains of industry, comprising representatives of India and Laos.
VIENTIANE - Hailing the economic growth of Laos and its investor friendly policies, visiting Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on Friday said that as the fourth largest economy in the world in terms of purchasing power parity and one of the fastest growing economies, India is eager to expand commercially in this country.
VIENTIANE - To help Laos meet its development goals, India has decided to increase the line of credit to Vientiane for taking upgrading infrastructure in the field of transmission lines, hydro and irrigation projects.
VIENTIANE - India has agreed to renovate the Vat Phou or Wat Phou temple complex in southern Laos as part of deepening cultural and historical ties which have existed between the two countries for more than 2000 years.
