The Neubauer Hyperbaric Neurologic Center claims to offer treatments which gives relief to people suffering from severe diseases like cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, autism. The claims however are neither generally approved or are scientifically proven. In 2009, Vincenza Pesce and her little grandson Francesco Martinisi had traveled all the way from Italy to the United States to get the child a treatment for cerebral palsy. They had resorted to the clinic which is located near Fort Lauderdale, south Florida. Unfortunately while the child was undergoing a hyperbaric oxygen treatment inside a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, a sudden blast took place and the whole place was is sparks and fire. Vincenza Pesce too was inside the gas chamber accompanying her grandson. Both of them died after a few days of the blast.
Following the hyperbaric chamber blast on May 1, 2009 Vincenza Pesce’s family sued the clinic leading it to shut down. Although the lawsuits still remain to be unsettled, the clinic has opened once again. A doctor working at the Neubauer Hyperbaric Neurologic Center said that the clinic now has come up with some new rules and regulations which offer staff to remain very careful. Infact, from now onwards they will allow no one except the patient inside the hyperbaric chamber.
