Ministers’ group considers corruption among public servants

NEW DELHI - Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has convened the first meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) here on Friday, which is expected to discuss several issues including ways to fast-track cases of corruption against public servants.
According to reports, several senior ministers including Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram, Defence Minister A K Antony, Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee and Union Communication and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal will attend today’s GOM meeting.
The high-powered committee is expected to suggest legislative and administrative measures to tackle several corruption cases and improve transparency in functioning of the government. (ANI)
