By ANIFriday, January 21, 2011
KUALA LUMPUR - Indian Progressive Front (IPF) chief C. Siva has urged the Malaysian Finance Ministry to issue a directive to banks across the country to ensure that Tamil language is used in transactions.
Siva said that currently banking transactions were done in English, Malay and Chinese, the Star reported.
He emphasized that as Indians formed the third largest community in Malaysia, due recognition should be given to Tamil language. (ANI)
