Youngsters in large number are visiting shops to buy the traditional homespun as the Khadi style is emerging enormously among youngsters.
“Government has shown concerns over Khadi and thought how to promote it as millions of people depend on Khadi and if concerns are not shown to Khadi then people involved in Khadi will get unemployed and will not have any other mode of earning,” said Banwari Sharma, a shopkeeper.
Khadi is a versatile fabric and can be worn in every season.
“As new designs and patterns are coming, the Khadi has now come up with new patterns for the youngsters and many people started liking Khadi. Good stitching with good material of Khadi is available and it is selling as its demand is also enhanced,” said Rajendra Agarwal, a shopkeeper.
The cost of Khadi production is much higher than the normal fabric due to major involvement of the manpower while other fabrics are mainly produced on power looms.
