China shut down 60,000 porn sites in 2010

BEIJING - A Chinese government spokesman has said that 5000 suspects were taken into police custody for running and managing pornographic sites across the country.

He said the government is tightening its censorship laws after shutting down over 60,000 pornographic websites in 2010.

Beijing is of the view that smutty and lewd content is threatening the emotional health of Chinese children. (ANI)
