Major fire breaks out in stationary bus at Aurangabad

AURANGABAD - A major fire broke out in an empty stationary bus at Maharashtra’s Aurangabad city on Monday.

R. K. Suray, the Aurangabad Fire Station officer, said they received the information about the bus fire soon in the afternoon.

“Today, around 12:15 in the afternoon, in front of Delhi Gate, the bus of Samrat Travels was parked and was burning. We have doused the fire completely. But the bus is badly charred. All the seats and cushions are burnt. Engine is also damaged,” said Suray.

“We saw the diesel tank had broken. According to our estimates there must be a loss of rupees four to five lakh rupees,” he added.

Suray further said the case is under police investigation.

Aarif Ahmad, the bus owner, said the fire is the result of some notorious mischief-makers and the police ought to take investigate and take strict action against errant person or persons.

“Somebody has played a prank and this problem is being faced by many people in the city. This is a notorious deed, police should take cognisance of these incidents of arson,” said Ahmad. (ANI)
