Christians attend midnight mass across India

New Delhi,PANAJI - People from Christian community attended midnight mass in churches on the Christmas eve across the country.

Scores of people gathered at the churches and sang carols.

“We have come here to celebrate Christmas. Though I am not a Christian, but still I come here every year to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus because we have lot of faith in him,” said Uma Parsi, a resident.

Residents from all faiths lit candles inside the church to offer prayers on the festive occasion.

“We have gathered in the name of the church to celebrate the birth of our saviour, which is our belief in Christianity,” said Father Emanuel Victor, a priest at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in New Delhi.

Christmas fervour was especially witnessed in Panaji.

Devotees gathered to attend the special mass at the famous Don Bosco Cathedral to celebrate the spirit of Christmas, which signifies peace and tranquillity. (ANI)
