BHARATPUR, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The agitation of the Gujjar’s demanding five per cent reservation in government job as well as educational institution reached its fourth day on Thursday as the Central government dispatched more paramilitary forces to bring the situation under control. The agitation of the Gujjars comes as a protest against the judgment delivered by the Rajasthan High Court in which it quashed a petition of the state government that called for five per cent reservation for the Gujjar community. With the aim of showcasing their protest, the Gujjars have been blocking trains as well as roads along Bharatpur, Pilkapura and Dausa regions of the state.

While the agitators blocked the rail tracks spanning across New Delhi and Mumbai, Gujjar, their leader Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla told reporters gathered at the venue of the agitation that the rail tracks would not be vacated until and unless, the state governments provides them with five per cent reservation in addition to the OBC category. At the same time, the Gujjar leader also reiterated that until the decision to assign the reservation is taken, the recruitment process for as many as 1 lakh government jobs should be put on hold.

In the meanwhile, in order to impart an impetus to the state government’s efforts to control the scenario, the home ministry has deployed an estimated 1,500 paramilitary officials in Rajasthan. Sources close to the home ministry has revealed to media outlets that the central forces would provide assistance to the Rajasthan police personnels to ensure that the law and order situation is maintained and any attempt to create any kind of disturbance in the Gujjar agitation can be averted.
