NEW DELHI - The Union Ministry of Textiles organised the National Handloom Expo 2010 in New Delhi to promote handlooms in the markets.

Many fashion designers participated in a fashion show, organised to showcase a range of handloom fabrics.

Model adorned rich silks in a range of yellow to pink colours, looking royal and ethereal.

Meghna Rai Medhi, a fashion designer, said the expo was a great platform to bring back the glory of the forgotten handlooms and fabrics of India.

She added that the use of Indian fabrics by fashion designers would help in boosting the handloom industry.

“This is also a try (trial) the designers are making on their part, how they will make it available for the market. So, designers should definitely make an effort to create creations that general public appreciates and finds wearable,” said Medhi. (ANI)
