BOKARO - In a major breakthrough during anti Maoists operations, security forces arrested three top ultras in Jharkhand’s Bokaro city.

Acting on a tip off, a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the local police raided a Maoists hide out and arrested three ultras. They also recovered a huge cache of communication devices, explosives, chemicals and Maoists propaganda literature along with a laptop.

“During a raid by joint team of the CRPF and the district police, three Maoists rebels were arrested. One of them is Devendu Singh alias Anand alias Subodh ji, who is the member of special area committee in Bihar and Jharkhand. Ram Kumar Pandit is the zonal commander of the technical team and Jaiprakash Singh is a member,” said Saket Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police of Bokaro city.

The police officials also informed that the arrested rebels have accepted their role in many key attacks by the Maoists in the region.

Officials also suspect their involvement in the grisly attack on a paramilitary camp in Chhattisgarh that claimed 76 lives earlier this year. (ANI)
