SHIMLA - People in Shimla suffer as cold wave condition in Himachal Pradesh still persists.

Tourists and residents were resorted to sipping hot tea to warm themselves. Bonfires were lit to beat the chill as temperature dropped to 5.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

Manoj Kumar, a resident, said no amount of woollens could help to beat the chill.

“The weather has become very cold and we are in very bad state due to the decrease in temperature. It is very difficult to wake up in the morning and go for work,” said Kumar.

“Even in the evening it is very difficult to work and as you can see, we have lighted this bonfire despite wearing a sweater, jacket and quilt. It is very difficult to save yourself from cold,” he added.

Lack of visibility due to thick fog prevailed in the region affecting the daily commuters. By Hemant Chauhan (ANI)
