Centre ready to hold a ‘Special Session’ in Parliament over 2G scam

NEW DELHI - The Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre is ready to hold a ‘Special Session’ in the Parliament over the controversy surrounding the 2G scam.
According to Congress Party sources: “The government is ready for a special session in the Parliament to end the deadlock over the 2G scam and to enable a resumption of Parliament proceedings during the Budge Session early next year.”
The talks are reportedly on with the Opposition parties with regard to holding a special session in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.”
Former Telecom Minister A. Raja was forced to resign last month under considerable pressure from the Congress, which continues to be attacked in Parliament by the Opposition on corruption charges.
The 2G-spectrum allocation has reportedly caused an alleged loss of Rs1.76 lakh crores to the Government, the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has stated in a report. (ANI)
