NEW YORK - Sarah Palin has hit back at criticism that her reality TV show doesn’t help her efforts to appear presidential.
“Oooh, I’m sorry I’m not so hoity-toity,” The New York Daily News quoted Palin as saying in a faux-British accent on Fox News Channel on Thursday night.
The Mama Grizzly, who hunts animals and recently palled around with mom of eight Kate Gosselin on her reality TV show, was responding to a question from host Bill O’Reilly who asked if her on-camera behaviour was ‘presidential’.
The former Alaska Governor complained in an exclusive interview with ‘Good Morning America’ on Friday that there was a double standard for women in politics, especially when it comes to crying.
She said she felt while male politicians could shed a tear, female politicians must keep their emotions in check.
She was referring to incoming House Speaker Rep. John Boehner’s recent speeches where the Ohio Republican has gotten misty-eyed.
“I don’t know if a woman would be given a pass necessarily,” said Palin.he said she would be ‘knocked a little bit’ if she cried while giving a speech, but said Boehner gets a ‘pass’ when he cries in public.
She also said a decision on whether to run for President in 2012 is ’still months down the road’.
A recent poll showed that 59 percent of respondents definitely would not vote for Palin in a presidential election. (ANI)
