STORY: The student wing of Congress party demanded the resignation of Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Chief of India’s eastern West Bengal state to protest against the killing of a student in the state.
Sourav Chakrabarty, President of Chhatra Parsihad (CP) (Youth Wing) said that they want to bring down the ruling government of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in the state as they kill students with the help of police.
“We want to bring down the ruling government of Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Chief of West Bengal state, Communist Party of India (Marxist). He kills people and students with the help of police. They want to be in the power, which is undemocratic and they go to colleges and violate the democratic rights of the students and wants SFI (Students Federation of India) to win,” said Chakrabarty.
The protestors demanded immediate resignation of the state Chief for the killing of a school boy Purna Chandra Ghosh in Murshidabad district.
Hundreds of CP supporters were arrested when they were moving towards the Writers’ Building violating the Article 144.
