Therefore, I am appealing to the people of the state across to come forward and stand by JD(S).”

STORY: Former Karnataka Chief of state and Congress leader S. Bangarappa quits party and joins Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) in presence of H. D. Deve Gowda, Chief of Janata Dal (Secular) and H. D. Kumaraswamy, a JD-S leader in southern Bangalore city.
S. Bangarappa, Former Karnataka state Chief and a Congress leader invited people to join the party to take the development of the state ahead.
“I appeal to Karnataka people to join Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S), leave the other parties which are there…and unfit to rule the state and the country like Congress party. Therefore, I am appealing to the people of the state across to come forward and stand by JD(S),” said Bangarappa.
H. D. Deve Gowda, Chief of Janata Dal (Secular) confirmed the joining of Bangarappa in JD-S.
“Former chief minister and a senior leader of Karnataka joining with his followers to Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) today is a major event in Karnataka politics,” said Deve Gowda.
However, Deve Gowda also said that the party will come in power to bring down the corrupt government in the state.
“The party will come back to power with the blessings of the people Karnataka to route out this corrupt government which is existing today,” said Deve Gowda.
S. Bangarappa was Chief Minister of Karnataka from October 1990 to November 1992.
