NEW DELHI - The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday raided the office and residence of corporate lobbyist Nira Radia in connection with the 2G spectrum scam.

Former Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) chairman Pradeep Baijal’s home is also being raided by the CBI sleuths.

Baijal was the TRAI boss between 2004 and 2008. He joined Radia’s firm in 2009.

According to television reports, the CBI is carrying out raids at 27 places in Tamil Nadu and seven places in Delhi in connection with its probe.

Last week, the CBI raided the house of former Telecom Minister A Raja in Delhi, along with his homes in Tamil Nadu in connection with the scam.

There were searches in 14 places and important papers were recovered.

The raids were also being carried out at the residences of former Telecom Secretary Siddharth Behura, member Telecom K Sridhar, Deputy Director General, Department of Telecom, AK Srivastava and RK Chandolia.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had earlier questioned Radia for her alleged role in the scam.

Radia was summoned after the tapes exposed how she had allegedly lobbied with senior journalists and telecom companies and asked them to pay their part in the 2Gscam. (ANI)
