Fish therapy introduced in Chennai

CHENNAI - Fish therapy, a unique beauty treatment, has been introduced in Chennai recently.
The therapy uses “Doctor Fish” (Cyprinion macrostomus) who moves around in a tub of warm water and nibbles off dead skin, uncovering the healthy skin underneath.
“They don’t have teeth, they nibble on your dead skin and they clean your feet, infectious enzyme, which makes your feet smooth and it also takes care of any discolouration on the feet. If you have any scars or discolouration they take them off and for people who have lots of stress and pressure for first two-three minutes you will just laugh,” said Ajith Menon, the Chief Executive Officer of a fish spa here.
Some of the benefits of this special treatment are that it promotes blood circulation and release’s stress and tension.
Residents said they were happy to learn of the innovative therapy.
“The therapist here told me about this rejuvenating system, that fishes go inside your toes and they clear out your entire dead cells from toes and foot. Feel very refresh and relaxed,” said Joyce, a customer.
