NEW DELHI - Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav on Thursday, slammed the Central Government for being “the most corrupt government till date”.

Taking part in a street protest with party workers here, Yadav said the Congress party should be dragged before the public for prompt action on the scams row.

“Though all the governments that have come to power till now have been tainted with corruption charges, but this ruling government has been the most corrupt and dishonest till date. We have initiated a campaign against them in the Parliament and now we will drag them into the public,” said Yadav.

The protestors once again demanded the formation of a JPC to probe allegations of financial irregularities in the telecom scam.

Meanwhile, the logjam in the Indian Parliament continued for the tenth consecutive day on Thursday after agitating lawmakers disrupted sessions in both Houses by creating an uproar over the 2G scam.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Tarun Vijay blamed the government for stalling the functioning of Parliament by its stubborn stance on the probe.

“The demands of the opposition are being neglected by the government who is adamant on its stand and is not allowing the Parliament to function smoothly. They don’t want the House to run as it would expose all their scams,” said Vijay.

Refuting the charges, Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari condemned the opposition for not being open to a healthy debate in the House.

“The Government has repeated several times that we are open to dialogue and discussion. We are ready for debate on any issue.

You come and we will answer all your queries. But this opposition seems to be running away from the reality,” said Tiwari. (ANI)
