ALLAHABAD - Environmentalists completed a 25-days long voyage from Yamunotri glacier in the Himalayas to Prayag in Allahabad on Sunday to spread awareness about water pollution.

Twenty members of Kala Sangam Kendra, an environment and culture conservation group took part in the campaign.

Interacting with the mediapersons, the organiser of the campaign said the objective of undertaking the journey is to spread the message of conservation of water bodies and asked people not to pollute the rivers.

“Around 25 days ago we started this journey from Yamunotri and our motive was to conserve Yamuna River’s culture and raise awareness about its geography and pollution, and today this voyage has ended,” said Anand Bardhan Shukla, the director of the Kala Sangam Kendra.

A cultural programme was held on the Yamuna bank to mark the occasion.

The environmentalists said a documentary film on the river would also be released soon. (ANI)
